From 2004 to 2019, I studied and practiced law in the Czech Republic, Germany, United States and Austria and served clients also from other countries. The more legal systems I encountered and became familiar with, the more I became interested in the rules that govern international transactions applicable irrespective of national laws. Most of that time, I worked as an independent attorney, which surely had its benefits.  It enabled me to use a different, more flexible and agile approach than traditional big law firms and that formed my goal-oriented and less formal style of negotiation. I learned how to keep communication simple and straight-forward, without unnecessary paperwork. But being an attorney had its limits too. Most of the national legal systems require lawyers to be registered in their country in order to provide legal services in domestic law, which usually means getting a law degree from a school based in that country and becoming a member of the local bar association. The nature of the cases you work on is also heavily predetermined by the area where you practice as most of them will affect, at least to some extent, the local law, even in international transactions.

 

Therefore, in 2020, I established DEALS INTERNATIONAL, an entity through which I can offer enterpreneurs from all over the world what I do the best: how to seal a deal with their international business partners. Since there is nothing like an „international commercial code“ or „international business court“, the parties are allowed to set their own rules, applicable law and even a body that will solve and decide potential conflicts. Especially for parties from different cultural regions, it is important that they find the answers to all the major questions arising from a mutual business cooperation, directly in the contract they have negotiated and signed. Misunderstandings and conflicts in international settings can be quite costly and lenghty. An experienced international business lawyer is aware of possible risks and current threats in international trade, as well as, cultural differences and various business customs, and by proper negotiation and careful agreement drafting can prevent problems in the future significantly. I have prepared and revised hundreds of commercial contracts so far and I am confident I can get the best deal also for you.
